STEP 1: Measure rail opening. Cut 2x4's (or 5/4" boards) rails to length. Attach outside top and bottom rails to the post. See Cad Diagram at Step 6.
Note: Scenic balusters are installed by sandwiching them in between rail boards. Typically sandwiching 2x4s work better with 6"x6" post and 5/4" boards works better with 4"x4" post. For Various Rail to Post configuration, see Cad Diagram. For composite rails, use diagram "A" (face mount the inside face rail on the inside of post). Check with local code officials for appropriate fasteners for the Railing to Post attachment. Six Foot (6') is the maximum recommended span for railings.
